ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's wrestling team will remain in the Tim Dodge Mezzanine on Tuesday, January 7 to host the St. Ambrose Bees for non-conference dual meet. This event will also be a fundraiser for the Iowa Children's Hospital.

The Vikings have a 7-2 overall record and return to action after concluding the Fred Johnson Duals on Saturday with a 4-0 record. The team secured a 46-11 win against Eureka, a 21-18 score versus Quincy, a 34-12 score over Westminster, and concluded the day with a 31-18 victory against Triton.

The team had four wrestlers wrap up the event undefeated to help Augustana finish first. Mikey Rodriguez conquered his matchups in the 149 weight class after converting a 17-7 major decision against Eureka and pinned his Foe from Westminster. Jacob Badger started his day with a forfeit in the 197 slot against Eureka before securing the lead against Quincy after a 13-4 decision. In the battle against Westminster, Badger added six points with a forfeit and finished the event with a pin against Triton. Michael Macias kicked off the day with a fall against Eureka in the 157 weight category before a 12-2 major decision to help move the advantage back in Augie's favor against Quincy. Macias grabbed a 14-7 decision against Westminster before pinning his opponent from Trition. The final undefeated individual was Jack Patting, who pinned his first foe against Eureka in the 165 class and kept his momentum going with a 4-2 decision against Quincy. Against Westminster, Patting collected a 10-1 major decision and a 5-4 decision in the final round.

St. Ambrose has a 3-2 overall record and returns to action after finishing seventh out of nine teams at the battle for the Helmet in Mason City, Iowa on Saturday. Jayden Terronez was the Bees's top performer with a second-place finish in the 165 weight class, while three others placed inside the top six. St. Ambrose has a 1-1 away record so far this season, with their last matchup resulting in a 28-23 loss against Missouri Baptist.

Augie holds a 2-1 record against the Bees since 2021. The Vikings won the previous battle 23-19 in Davenport last season.

For the Iowa Children's Hospital fundraiser, there will be a 10-minute intermission halfway through the match for a ball toss game to win prizes.
