DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams each went 1-1 at the double dual meet hosted by St. Ambrose on Friday. The Augie men defeated the Coe Kohawks by a score of 181-24, but fell to the Fighting Bees by a final of 166-85. The women defeated Coe 110-0, but were defeated by St. Ambrose 136-110.
"This was a challenging week and competition for us as we had a lot of our team out sick tonight," said head coach
Dan Lloyd. "I could not be more proud of the way we fought through this meet and did not back down. We had double practices today leading into this meet as well as this week and we were very broken down. To swim as well as did really shows our heart, character and mental toughness. We stepped up and this was a great test as we prepare for conference championships."
Between the two teams, the Vikings boasted multiple champions in Friday's events.
Ryan DeLand was the winner of the 3-meter dive with a score of 223.10, while
