ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's wrestling team finished third out of six teams at the CCIW Championships on Sunday, with seven wrestlers placing in the top three to earn All-Conference.

The Vikings had three individuals place second in their respective weight classes. In the 138 division, Bri Bynum collected a bye and an 11-0 technical fall in the semifinals before falling in the finals to North Central. Sawyer Graham secured an 8-0 decision versus North Central and an 11-0 technical fall against Illinois Wesleyan, but dropped to No. 4 nationally-ranked foe from North Central in the 180 finals. Angie Guy finished second in the 207 weight class.

Four additional wrestlers finished third, starting with Jo Orozco in the 110 division. Orozco fell in her first round to move to the consolation bracket where she received a bye. In the consolation semifinals, the freshman pinned her opponent from Aurora before a 12-2 technical fall in the third-place match over the opponent who defeated her earlier. In the 117 category, Liz Ramirez obtained a 14-4 technical fall and dropped her second round. In round three, the freshman secured a 10-0 technical fall but lost to Carthage in her final round. Sandie Pfeil claimed third in the 124 weight class and Maryam Ndiaye in the 160 bracket.
