IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Augustana Vikings women's wrestling team fell to a pair of top-five opponents on Saturday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Vikings were defeated by No. 4 Grand Valley State by a score of 29-8 before dropping the finale to No. 1 by a final of 44-1. 

Against Grand Valley State, Moni Griffin earned the first point for the Vikings to cut the deficit to 15-1 in favor of the Lakers. After Aine Moffit added another to the Vikings' tally, Sawyer Graham pinned the No. 2 ranked opponent in the country in the 180-weight division. Angie Guy also added a point to the Vikings total to bring the final to 29-8. 

In the matchup against Iowa, Moffit grabbed a team point for Augie after two points in her faceoff in the 145 category.

With the loss, Augie moves to 4-5 on the season and will be back in the Carver Center on Saturday, January 25 for the CCIW Duals meet.
