ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's track & field teams finished the CCIW Outdoor Championships on Saturday, with the women placing second with 135 points, and the men finished fourth with 113.5. The second-place finish for the women is the highest standing for the program since 2008. Between the two teams, the Vikings boasted 27 all-conference student-athletes across over 50 events.
Beginning on Friday, Emma Odle found victory in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:56.00 and Anna Boardman finished first in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 36:54.69. Magnus Wells won his second straight conference title in the javelin throw with a distance of 53.90 for a personal record.
On Saturday for the women, McKenzie Reser broke two school records, taking second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.93 before winning the 200m with a time of 24:34. Lina Maatouk conquered the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:18.22 and finished second in the 1500-meter finals with a new personal record of 4:55.41. The Vikings took the top two spots in the 5000-meter run with Odle securing the win with a time of 17:42.18 and Boardman following in second at 17:58.09. In the 400-meter hurdles, Lauren Oelke collected a second-place finish with a personal-best time of 1:06.83. In the 4x100 relay, Jade Johnson, Reser, Cora Deemer, and Nabila Saam finished fourth at 48.49. In the 4x400-meter relay, Deemer, Jordyn Van Santen, Reser, and Maatouk ran a season-best of 3:59.78 to place second.
In the heptathlon, Allison Hunt ran a time of 2:35.18 in the 800-meter run to secure third. In the long jump portion, Hunt jumped 4.56 meters and threw 15.18 meters in the javelin event. After both days, Hunt finished seventh out of 16 with 3385 points.
In field events, Charlotte Frere collected second place in the discus throw with a distance of 46.18 meters. In the high jump event, Rhiannon Marshall jumped 1.54 meters for a season-best and a fifth-place finish. Heather Michalski finished third in the javelin throw event with a distance of 38.54 meters, with Frere following in fifth after throwing 37.41 meters.

On the men's side, Connor McBride found a personal record in the 400-meter run with a time of 49.60 for a third-place finish. In the 5000-meter, Joe Langridge clocked in a time of 14:59.96 to obtain third place, while AJ Banks crossed the finish line fifth in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 56.58.
Also on Saturday, Mike Hudson wrapped up first in the decathlon with 6147 points, while Dylan Russell placed fourth with 5145 points, and Devin Gephart had 4747 points for sixth. Caden Eller jumped a personal record of 1.89 meters in the high jump to collect a fifth-place finish.
On Friday for the men, Langridge finished second with a personal best of 9:08.43 to give him the No. 21 time in Division III.

The Vikings will be back in action May 10-11 for the St. Francis Fighting Chance Meet in Joliet, Ill.
