ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's tennis team will kick off a stretch of four straight matches at home on Wednesday, April 10 when they host the Millikin Big Blue for a CCIW showdown.

Augie currently sits at 12-6 on the year and 1-2 in CCIW action. The team recently fell to No. 27 North Central in its most recent outing by a score of 7-2. All three doubles matches went to the Cardinals to give the home team an early lead. North Central clinched the match with wins in the first two singles matches to finish, but Arthur Hermange tallied a point for the Vikings next with a win over the No. 2 ranked player in the region in straight sets. Hermange, currently ranked No. 14 in the central region, defeated No. 2 Ramon Vilarroig by a score of 6-1, 6-4. Gabriel Luna earned the other triumph for Augustana, defeating his opponent at No. 3 by a score of 4-6, 6-2, 10-4.

Millikin enters Wednesday with a record of 2-3 and 0-1 in the CCIW. The Big Blue was recently defeated by Illinois Wesleyan in their CCIW opener this past Saturday, defeated by a score of 6-3. Millikin has played just one road match this season, a 6-3 loss at Principia back on March 26.

Wednesday will be the 46th all-time meeting between the two programs, with Augustana leading the series 40-5. The Big Blue defeated the Vikings 5-4 last season in Decatur.

Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m. from Lincoln Park.
