WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's track and field teams wrapped the indoor regular season over the weekend with a pair of appearances at the UW-Platteville and Wartburg qualifying meets.
On Friday at Wartburg, Allison Hunt participated in the pentathlon, where she placed second in the high jump event with a height of 1.54 meters and ran a time of 2:30.61 in the 800-meter to finish fourth. Hunt also finished ninth in both the 60-meter hurdles and shot put, as well as eighth in the long jump. On the men's side, Mike Hudson finished sixth in the shot put in his heptathlon performance.Â
On Saturday, Anna Boardman crossed the finish line third in the 3000-meter event clocking in at 10:11.42. In field events, Heather Michalski placed fifth in the shot put event at 12.50 meters, while Hannah Johnson jumped a distance of 10.21 meters in the triple jump to finish fifth.
On the men's side at Wartburg, the Vikings continued their success in the heptathlon with Hudson finishing third in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:51.04 and Russell placing fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.85 meters. Elsewhere, Joe Langridge crossed the finish line fifth with a time of 8:27.41 in the 3000-meter. In field events, Aykeem Spivey placed second in the weight throw event throwing 18.24 meters, while Caden Eller jumped 6.39 meters in the long jump event.Â
Up in Wisconsin on Friday, Madison Morrow won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.56, with Lauren Oelke following in third with a time of 10.14. McKenzie Reser found victory in the 60-meter dash after crossing the finish line at 7.87. Cora Deemer finished with a time of 8.01 to grab fourth.Â
In field events, Skyler Barber secured fourth place in the weight throw with a distance of 13.35, while Bridget Wunderlich placed fifth throwing 13.27 meters. Wunderlich also placed fifth in the shot put event with a distance of 11.25 meters.Â
On the men's side, AJ Banks finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.71. In field events, Spivey placed third in the weight throw at 18.40 meters, while Caden Foulke placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.77 meters.Â
The Vikings will await to see if any student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 8-9 in Virginia Beach, Va.
