NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Paige Melton of the Augustana Vikings women's basketball team has been named the CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday. 

Melton earned this honor after her performance against the Elmhurst Bluejays and the North Central Cardinals this past week. In both games, the sophomore collected 48 points and 13 rebounds to average 24 points on 75 percent shooting, while averaging 6.5 rebounds and shooting 81 percent from the free throw line. 

In the game against Elmhurst on Wednesday, Melton collected a career-high 31 points on 11-12 shooting. The sophomore also went 8-8 from the free throw line to go with eight rebounds and two steals. In Saturday's game against North Central, she registered 17 points and five rebounds.
