DECORAH, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's wrestling team attended the Luther Open on Saturday, which featured over 30 teams ranging across all divisions.

On the women's side, Sandie Pfeil finished second in the 124 weight division after pinning her opponent from Simpson to start. Pfeil secured a 9-2 decision against UW-Stevens Point before a 6-2 decision over Iowa Central. Sawyer Graham finished sixth in the 160 weight division with three technical falls and a 9-0 decision. Maryam Ndiaye placed seventh in the 145 weight category with pins against Loras and Quincy and two decisions. In eighth in the 145 bracket, Aine Moffit collected a 10-0 technical fall before pinning her opponent from Southeast and a 10-4 decision in round four of the consolation bracket. Moni Griffin secured eighth in the 131 weight division with a pin over UW-Stevens Point before two technical fall victories.

For the men, Jaxson Hicks finished sixth in the 184 weight division after a 18-11 decision over Wartburg and a pin against Labette Community. Hicks fell in the semifinals to conclude action in the fifth place matchup. Conor Phelan placed sixth in the 197 category after finding victory in four constellation contests with two pins and two major decisions.

Both teams with host ranked North Central on Wednesday, November 13 in the Carver Center.
