TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Fifth-year senior
Emma Odle took one last venture to the national cross country stage on Saturday. Out of the field's 290 runners, Odle finished in 52nd, an 18-spot improvement from last season's championship race.
Odle's time of 21:58.0 was hard fought and earned on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course's muddy slopes and sharp turns. Odle's effort put her just 12 places removed from All-American status – a separation of roughly 11 seconds. She was less than a tenth of a second ahead of the 53rd place runner, and only four-tenths of a second behind the runner in 51st.
The Division III National Championship concludes the Augustana Vikings women's cross country season. Season results and recaps can be found
