ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Vikings finished fifth out of 31 teams at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday at Saukie Golf Course. 
 
Senior Joe Langridge led the way for the Vikings, finishing in ninth place with a time of 24:44.2 for All-Region honors. Fellow seniors Grant Ackard and Finbar Martin also earned All-Region awards with their 15^th and 18^thplace finishes, running times of 24:56.4 and 24:59.7, respectively. 
 
Jose Gomez and Alex Gazarek rounded out the Vikings' top five runners. Gomez finished in 57th place with a time of 26:04.1, a new personal best. Gazarek completed the 8k race in 59th place with a time of 26:06.7.
 
Augie's fifth-place finish has the potential to earn the team an at-large bid to the NCAA National Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday, November 23. The last time the Vikings qualified for the national meet as a team was in 2015 when they placed 20th overall. The NCAA will release the at-large bid picks at 2:00PM on Sunday, November 17.
