ELMHURST, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team will be back in action on the road on Tuesday, October 8 when they visit the Elmhurst Bluejays.

Augustana currently sits at 7-10 on the season and 1-2 in CCIW action, recently dropping a pair of Wisconsin last Friday to Carroll and Dubuque both by scores of 3-1. After falling behind in both matches, the Vikings bounced back with wins in set two before suffering losses in the next two. Emily Schipper combined for 38 kills across the two contests, while Ashley Awbrey led the way defensively with 19 digs each time out. Tuesday will be the sixth match out of 10 straight played away from home. The Vikings currently sit with a record of 2-4 in true road matches, with their last coming in the 3-1 loss at Carroll. Statistically, the Augie defense boasts five players averaging over two digs per set, while Schipper leads the attack on offense with 4.36 kills per game.

Elmhurst enters the match with a 7-8 overall record and 0-4 mark in the CCIW. The Bluejays are looking to end a two-match skid, recently falling to North Central at home last Friday in five sets. Elmhurst held a 1-0 and 2-1 lead in the contest, but the Cardinals answered with wins in the final two to steal the match. The Bluejays are currently in the midst of seven matches in a row at home, where they sport a 2-2 record. The team has a balanced attack this season with five players average at least two kills per set.

Tuesday will be the 63rd all-time meeting between the two programs, with Elmhurst leading the series 47-15. Augie snapped a four-match losing streak to the Bluejays last season in a 3-1 win at home.

Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
