CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team will face off with the North Park Vikings on Saturday, November 1 for an important CCIW showdown.

Augustana enters Friday with a 10-16 overall record and 2-4 mark in the CCIW, currently sitting in a tie for fifth place with North Park. Augie is coming off a 2-0 weekend where it saw wins over North Central and UW-La Crosse at home. In the Saturday match vs. the Eagles, the Vikings raced out to a 2-0 lead before the visitors stormed back to even the match with wins in the third and fourth sets. UW-La Crosse grabbed the early edge in the fifth after beginning with a 5-1 run to kick things off. Augie quickly closed the gap with the next three rally wins, but later faced another four-point difference after the Eagles moved the score to 9-5. Carli Udovich halted the run with a kill and later evened the score with another to cap off a 4-0 spurt for the Vikings. The two teams traded a pair of scores to move the deadlock to 11-11 before an attack error from La Crosse and a kill by Alexis Richards gave Augie its largest lead of the set. The Eagles got one back to pull within one, but was followed by a Kylie Collachia kill to make it match point for the Vikings. Kacie Swanson wrapped up the victory for the team with a service ace for the second straight night as Augie held on for the five-set win.

The Vikings have won three of their last four matches overall. The team sports a 2-6 record on the road this season, with its last match on the road resulting in a 3-0 loss to UW-Stevens Point back on October 11.

North Park currently sits with an 11-14 record and 2-4 mark in the CCIW. The team is looking to snap a six-match losing streak, recently falling to Cornell last time out by a score of 3-1. During their six-match skid, the Vikings have won just one set. Friday will be the team's first home contest since October 16, where they boast a 6-4 record. The team defeated Wheaton it its last match at home by a final of 3-0. Adriana Rodriguez leads the Vikings this season with 4.62 kills per game.

Augie is 44-6 all-time vs. North Park, but has lost three out of the last four in the series. North Park won last season's meeting at home in five sets.
