Box Score ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team was defeated in its final conference match of the season on Sunday, falling to the Carthage Firebirds by a score of 7-0.

Carthage took two of three doubles matches to head into singles with a 1-0 lead. Hannah Colbert and Colleen Larry notched the lone victory of the day for Augie at No. 1 doubles, defeating their counterpart by a score of 6-3. 

All six singles matches went in favor of the Firebirds, but three contests were decided in a third set. Larry at No. 2 Maddy Harned at No. 4 each won the opening set, but dropped the final two. Harned's third-set tiebreaker was decided by a 12-10 score. Mikayla Kelly bounced back from a defeat in the opening set with a win in the second, but fell in the third.

With the loss, Augie drops to 3-5 on the season. The team will resume action in February.
