ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams will begin their 2024-25 campaign on Saturday, October 12 when they welcome the North Central Cardinals for a dual meet.
During the 2023-24 season, the swimming & diving teams became the first in Augustana history to win the CCIW championship in the same season, the second straight for the men and second in three seasons for the women. The men's title in 2022-23 was the first in 41 years, while the women's in 2021-22 was the first championship in 25 seasons. Additionally, each of the teams earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors, the eighth year in a row the women have earned this accomplishment and fourth consecutive season for the men. Both teams were recognized as part of the CSCAA Fall and Spring Scholar All-America Teams.
In total, the men had nine championship performances at the CCIW Championships with seven different individuals grabbing conference titles. On the women's side, the Vikings saw eight titles with 11 different individuals winning events. A recap of the team's CCIW accomplishments can be foundÂ

On the men's side, the Vikings finished with a 3-3 overall record in dual meets, with two wins coming against CCIW foes. For the women, the team boasted a 4-2 record last season and a perfect 3-0 mark against conference opponents.Â
North Central enters Saturday following a 0-4 record and last-place standing in conference on both the men's and women's side. The men are seeking their first dual win since November of 2019, while the women are looking for their first victory since December 2018.
The Augie women are 10-1 all-time against North Central, winning last year's meeting in Westmont, Ill. by a score of 174-14. The men are 18-16 all-time against the Cardinals and have won the last four encounters dating back to 2018. The Viking men defeated North Central at home last season by a final of 150-24.
