DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's wrestling team traveled across the river for a non-conference dual against the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees on Wednesday, taking the final three matches of the night to win in comeback fashion by a score of 23-19.

Both teams went back-and-forth in weight classes until Augie overtook St. Ambrose in the final three battles of the dual. The Bees started the night off with a win in the 125 weight class before Trevor Boryla secured the 133 division with a 16-11 decision. St. Ambrose grabbed the 141 category and Michael Macias received a 12-3 major decision in the 149 battle. The Bees obtained the 157 and 174 weight classes, while Jack Patting won the 165 division with an 8-5 decision. The Vikings closed out the night with three consecutive wins, starting with Clay DeBaillie with a 3-2 decision in the 184 category and Jacob Badger earning a 15-4 major decision in the 197 division. In the last match of the night, Josh Woodrey clinched the team win for the Vikings via fall in the heavyweight clash. Augie trailed 19-10 before the three wins from DeBaillie, Badger, and Woodrey.

Augie won all four of the extra battles in the dual, which did not contribute to the final score. Logan Obert had a 17-8 major decision and Jack Miller won by fall. The final two victories were due to falls by Teke Nieto and Khadyn Jacobs

With the win the Vikings sit at 7-5 on the season and will return to the Carver Center to host the Fred Johnson duals on Sunday, January 7.
