WESTMONT, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams wrapped up their stay at the competitive North Central/Illinois-Chicago Invitational on Saturday, each ending in fifth place. The Vikings finished higher than all Division III teams in attendance.

"I am extremely proud of our mental toughness," said head coach Dan Lloyd. "Swimming two long meets in less than 24 hours with late travel in between was a challenge that will prepare us well for our conference championship schedule. We showed a lot of fight in our races and had a lot of people step up since we do not have our full roster currently. We are remaining focused on preparing for conference.

In the 200-yard free, Mara Walker concluded a weekend of success with a seventh-place standing and a time of 1:59.17, while Kendle Mihm secured 10th overall in the 50 free at 25.41. Caitlin Stoddard was close behind in 11th with a time of 26.20. Mihm also led the Vikings with a 12-place result in the 100-free, one of five Augie swimmers in the top 16. Olivia White tallied 10th in the 500 freestyle race at 5:32.59.

Tyler Leslie continued to perform well, earning fourth in the 200-free with a mark of 1:43.14. Holden Siena notched a top-10 finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:07.36, while Christian Mammoser and Mason Adams were close behind in 11th and 12th. In the 100-yard back, Gavin McCorry came in at ninth with a time of 1:56.80, while Lucas Rettig and Kacper Cebula went 11 and 12 in the 100 fly.

The women finished in fifth with 148 total points, with the men garnering 130.5 also in fifth. Both finished ahead of conference foes Millikin and North Central.

The Vikings will return home for their next outing and final dual meet next Saturday when they host Wheaton for Senior Day. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
