DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team will be back in action on Friday, September 29 when they take on the Grinnell Pioneers and Loras Duhawks in a non-conference tri-match.

Augustana currently sits 10-4 on the season after falling on Wednesday to Illinois Wesleyan in five sets. The Vikings dropped the first two games, but fought back with a dominating third-set victory before using a late rally to claim the fourth and force a deciding set. The Vikings played catch-up for the first half of the final game, storming back from a five-point deficit to eventually put themselves at set point three different times. The Titans used one final push, rattling off three straight scores after being down 15-14 to steal the match with a 17-15 set final.

Jaden Julius led Augustana offensively with 19 kills, followed by Emily Schipper with 13. As a team, the Vikings boasted 16 total blocks, with Jenny Dunder and Julius both a part of four each. Five different members tallied double-digit digs, while Amelie Baehr-Ross notched 37 assists.

The Vikings will first square off with Grinnell at 5 p.m., who enter Friday with a 7-7 overall record. The Pioneers have won three of their last four contests, beginning with a defeat of Rose-Hulman at the Viking Classic. Grinnell recently knocked off Carleton their last time out in consecutive sets. The Pioneers are just 1-4 this season in neutral-site matchups.

Grinnell leads the all-time series over Augustana 12-3 and has won the last two meetings in the series after Augie held a three-match winning streak. The Pioneers won in Rock Island last season by a score of 3-1.

At 7 p.m., Augie will take on the host school Loras Duhawks on their home court, who come in with a 7-9 record. Loras and Grinnell will play each other in the first contest of the day before the Duhawks and Vikings close out the triangular. Loras will look to snap a three-match losing streak after defeating No. 14 Cornell in straight sets back on September 20. The Duhawks were defeated by Dubuque in their most recent outing by a score of 3-2.

Friday will be the 34th meeting between Augustana and Loras, with the Vikings holding an 18-15 advantage. Augie won last season's encounter at home by a score of 3-0.
