WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team will continue their stretch away from home on Friday, September 22 when they visit the No. 7 ranked UW-Whitewater Warhawks,

Augustana enters the weekend with a record of 10-2, recently dropping a five-set thriller with North Central on Tuesday. The Vikings squeaked out a two-point opening-set win, but were defeated in two straight games by the Cardinals to fall behind. Augie bounced back with a fourth-set victory to force a fifth and final frame, but a fast start from North Central propelled them to a five-point win to clinch the match.

Jaden Julius and Emily Schipper were the team leaders with 23 kills apiece, while Amelie Baehr-Ross posted a career-best 48 assists. Schipper and teammate Grace Vranicar were named the reigning CCIW Student-Athletes of the Week for offense and defense back on Monday.

The Warhawks currently sit 9-2 on the season and are No. 7 in the latest AVCA poll. Whitewater recently saw their four-match winning streak come to an end on Wednesday, falling at home in consecutive sets to No. 3 UW-Oshkosh. Both of the Warhawks' losses on the year have come to teams currently ranked in the top 10. Whitewater also owns three wins over ranked teams, defeating Cornell, Coe, and Washington-St. Louis.

Augustana has never won against UW-Whitewater in their 14 previous meetings. The Warhawks won the most recent encounter back in 2017, a 3-2 victory in Rock Island.
