ROCK ISLAND – The Augustana men's and women's outdoor track and field teams hosted the Midwest Twilight meet on Thursday. While no team scores were recorded at the last chance qualifier, the Vikings boasted impressive individual finishes. 

Seth Sottos claimed the lone top placement of the meet for Augustana, timing at 10.64 in the 100m. Sottos' effort was just .05 seconds behind his program record time in the event set a season ago. In addition, the Vikings nabbed a pair of top-ten finishes in the unseeded 5000m event, with Finbar Martin placing fourth at 16:00.51 and Jack Bathje placing eighth at 16:13.86. 

Rafael Estrada finished eighth in the high jump, extending 1.93m. 

On the women's side, Gabriela Loiz and Charlotte Frere claimed runner-up finishes in the high jump and discus throw, respectively. Loiz extended 1.69m, besting her CCIW Championships mark by .01m. Frere's toss of 47.66m shatters her season-high hurl of 44.99m at the Meet of Champions on April 22. Heather Michalski turned in a 39.15m toss in the javelin throw to place third overall in the event.

In running events, Anna Boardman finished seventh out of 23 competitors in the 5000m at 18:06.83. Emma Odle claimed the eighth spot in the 3000 steeplechase, clocking an 11:09.85. Odle's time in the event sets a new program record, breaking the previous mark of 11:20.07 set by Amanda Nelson in 2017. 

The Vikings will officially end their season May 25-27 with the Division III Outdoor Championships. More information will be released at a later date.
