NORMAL, Ill. – The Augustana men's golf team visited Weibring Golf Club on Friday for round one of the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, and traveled to Ironwood Golf Course on Saturday for round two. The Vikings finished 32nd out of 37 teams.
Augie recorded a team score of 652, with respective round scores of 327 and 325.
Tyler Langel led the Vikings after going plus-12 with a 155 score, carding round scores of 75 and 80. Langel tied 12 other golfers to finish 71st out of a field of 212 and finished just one over in par-threes in the competition, leading the field through day one on such holes. With scores of 83 and 78,
Adam Soczka produced a 161 total for the team's second-best performance, finishing in the 137 spot.
Rounding out Augie's scoring,
Jonah Snelling carded a 165 with round scores of 82 and 83 to finish 165th.
Noah Ehlenbach and Daniel Ford tied scores, both turning in a 172. Ehlenbach carded rounds of 87 and 85, while Ford turned in 88 and 84 across the two-day affair.
The team returns to action from April 14-15 for the Blueboy Invitational at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Ill.
