WAVERLY, Iowa – The Augustana men's and women's track and field teams traveled to northeast Iowa on Friday and Saturday for the Wartburg Qualifier meet, bringing 10 athletes to the final indoor outing before the NCAA Championships next weekend.

Carson Eipers placed seventh in the weight throw competition this weekend with his toss of 16.05 meters, though his season-best throw of 18.82 meters at the SDSU Indoor Classic on February 11 punches his ticket to nationals. Eipers' toss at SDSU is the second-best in program history, finishing behind his personal best which came at nationals in 2022 when he threw 19.32 meters.

Connor McBride also earned a seventh-place finish, notching 22.36 in the 200-meter dash. McBride's time is a new indoor personal best, topping his previous best time of 22.47 at the SDSU Indoor Classic. Seth Sottos helped pace Augie in the short distances, finishing ninth in the 60 and 200-meter sprints with times of 7.02 and 22.41. 

On the women's side, Rhiannon Marshall finished sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.58 meters. McKenzie Reser finished 16th in the 200-meter sprint with a new personal best time of 26.10.

Eipers will travel to the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala., on March 10-11. Augie's men's and women's teams will begin their outdoor season when they travel to the WashU Mini Meet on March 25.
