BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Three members of the Augustana Vikings men's water polo team have been named to the 2023 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America Teams.
Oskar Bannister was named a Second Team selection, while
Declan Hutton and
Joseph Addison earned Honorable Mention recognition.
Bannister earns All-America honors for the second straight season after grabbing All-MPSF East First Team accolades for the second season in a row. Bannister led the team in goals this season with 59 and held a shot percentage of .562. He also was atop the team in assists with 38 and ranked third in steals with 24. Bannister was also named to both the MPSF and USA Water Polo National Championship All-Tournament teams.
Hutton, also a repeat All-American selection, was named the 2023 MPSF East Player of the Year and First Team selection. He racked up 193 saves on the season with a save percentage of 60 percent. He also added 38 steals, six assists, and three goals. He helped lead the Vikings to a second straight MPSF East title where he was named the tournament's MVP to go with an All-Tournament nod.
A now-three-time All-American, Addison was second on the team in goals with 46 and steals with 26. He was a First Team All-MPSF selection in 2023 and was named to the league's All-Tournament team as well. He caps off his illustrious career as the current program leader in goals, steals, and field blocks.
This year marks the second straight that Augustana has boasted three or more players on the All-American list.
