ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's wrestling team will be back in the Tim Dodge Mezzanine on Thursday, November 30 for back-to-back duals against the Simpson Storm and No.18 Central Dutch.
The Vikings are returning to the Quad Cities after a loss against the No. 7 North Central Cardinals on Wednesday, November 22, where the Cardinals earned a 45-7 victory. Augie had two wrestlers grab points over North Central. Michael Macias defeated his opponent in the 149 weight class by an 11-4 decision and Jacob Badger won the 197 division by a 16-3 major decision.
The Storm recently competed at the Coe Invite on Wednesday, November 18, where they didn't earn a team score, but had seven individual placers. Simpson has a 0-2 record in dual meets so far this season, losing 52-0 against the Cornell Rams and 53-0 to Wartburg.
The Vikings lead Simpson 6-3 in the all-time series. Last season the Storm snatched a 25-12 victory over Augie in Pella, Iowa.
The Dutch are ranked No. 18 in the latest edition of the NWCA Division III poll and have an overall record of 4-1 and a 1-1 conference record. Central is coming into the mid-week dual after a 27-10 win in Pennsylvania against the Muhlenberg Mules, where the Dutch had six wrestlers come out on top.
Central holds an 8-1 all-time series record over the Vikings. The last matchup was on December 1, 2022, where Augie fell 34-1 to the Dutch in Pella.
Augustana's first dual on Thursday, will be at 6:30 p.m. against Simpson, followed by an 8 p.m. matchup against Central.
