NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's wrestling teams will stay on the road as they head to the home of the North Central Cardinals for a CCIW conference dual on Wednesday, November 22. 

The Vikings are returning from the UWEC 8-Man and 8-Woman Battles on Saturday, November 18, where the Vikings earned many high individual finishes. The women had no team score but eight top finishers, while the men finished second out of five teams and had eight high-scoring individuals.

Champions of the tournament were Sandie Pfeil (123), Aine Moffit (155), Sawyer Graham (170), Angie Guy (191) and Jacob Badger (197). The runners-up were Lanie Cecala (143), Jaiden Moody (155), Monica Griffin (130), Samuel Deyro (133) and Chris Sitter (125). The individuals who earned third-place finishes were Sydney Tajkowski (136), Colin Roque (141), Michael Macias (149), Jack Miller (157), Braiden Young (184), and Anthony Joyner (285).

North Central's women's team is ranked second nationally and enters Wednesday's dual boasting a 5-0 record this season. They are coming from a 38-3 win against Carthage on November 14.

The North Central women currently hold a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series over Augie. The Cardinals won the lone meeting last season 45-0.

North Central's men's team is ranked seventh in Division III and has an overall record of 2-0 for the season. The Cardinals are returning from the CUW Open hosted by Concordia (Wis.), where they earned no team score. In their last dual meet, North Central defeated Carthage by a score of 41-3.

Augustana currently holds a 31-13 record all-time over North Central. In the most recent matchup between the two programs, the Cardinals outscored Augie 31-9 on December 15, 2022, in the Carver Center.
