IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's golf team posted a strong showing at the Central Fall Classic at Finkbine Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, finishing in fourth place out of 17 teams.

The Vikings boasted three top 15 performances and one more in the top 25 on their way to their fourth-place standing. Vilhelm Johansson led the team in ninth after shooting round scores of 75 and 78 for a 153. Sam Evenson and Alexandre Thery were one stroke behind Johansson at 154, ending in a tie for 14th overall. Evenson's first round score of 73 was good for a team best over the two-day event. Adam Soczka was next for Augie in 23rd with a final card of 157.

Noah Ehlenbach of the Augustana "B" team also earned a tie for 23rd ith Soczka after round scores of 76 and 81.

As a team, the Vikings tallied a final total of 618, just three strokes out of third.

Augie will be back in action October 23-24 at the Region V Showcase at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
