NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's tennis team was defeated on the road on Sunday, falling to the North Central Cardinals by a score of 9-0.
The Cardinals took all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles play.

Maitreyi Shrikhande nearly stole a point at No. 3 doubles for the Vikings, but fell in a close battle by a score of 8-6.
All six singles matches went in favor of North Central in consecutive sets.
With the loss, the Vikings drop to 2-1 on the season. The team will be back home for their next match on Wednesday, October 4 against North Park.
