ROCK ISLAND – The Augustana men's and women's wrestling teams will host the Fred Johnson Duals on Saturday, January 7. Within the confines of the Carver Center, both teams will compete in a trio of duals against Westminster, Quincy, and Eureka.

The men's team is coming off a narrow 24-18 victory over St. Ambrose on Wednesday. Jacob Badger pinned Tyler Casey in the 197 class to give the Vikings the six points needed to break an 18-18 tie entering the night's final match. With the win over the Fighting Bees, the men's team moved to 6-4 in dual play on the season. 

The women's team returns to action for the first time since their December 15 defeat to No. 2 ranked North Central. The loss moved the Vikings to a 1-1 record in dual play, with their lone win coming against No. 20 ranked Carthage earlier in the season. Saturday's duals will be just the second time in program history that the women's team will battle on their home mat. 

The Westminster men's team enters the Carver Center sporting an 0-2 record in dual action this season. The Bluejays women's team sits at a 2-5 record through the midway point of the 2022-23 season. Saturday will be the first time in either program's history to meet in a wrestling competition. 

Augustana's dual with Quincy will also be another first meeting between two programs for both the men's and women's teams. The Hawks enter the Fred Johnson Duals with a perfect 3-0 record on the men's side and a 6-3 record on the women's side. 

The Eureka Red Devils are amidst an inaugural wrestling season for both their men's and women's teams. The men began the year with a dominant 52-3 victory over Morton and boast a 2-0 record in duals entering Saturday. The women's team sits at a 1-6 record this season.
