Women's indoor track & field wraps up Squig Converse Invitational

WHITEWATER, Wis. — The Augustana women's indoor track & field team competed in the Squig Converse Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater on Saturday, placing sixth overall.

McKenzie Reser shined for the Vikings, earning two second-place finishes in the two events she participated in. Resner matched her time from the Bumble Rumble competition last weekend in the 60-meter sprint with a mark of 7.95. She continued to be a force for Augustana, earning eight points with her second-place finish in the 200-meter sprint with a time of 26.54.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Madison Morrow and Lauren Oelke finished fourth and fifth, respectively, giving the Vikings two top-five finishes in the race. Oelke ran a time of 9.95, while Morrow trailed just behind her at 10.27.

Augie continued to achieve high placements as the distance extended. Casey De La Cruz finished third in the mile race with a time of 5:59.74. Teammate Emma Gocken finished behind her in fifth place with a time of 6:42.54. In the 3000-meter run, Augie grabbed two more top-five placements, with Anna Boardman and Emma Odle running respective times of 10:41.33 and 10:44.47. The Vikings earned a total of 21 points as a result of their strong finishes in the two competitions.

The Vikings will return to action on February 4 alongside the men's team at the Illinois Wesleyan Keck Division III Select.
