WHEATON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed in their final dual meet of the season on Saturday, falling on both sides to the Wheaton Thunder on the road. The women were bested by a score of 121-80, while the men fell by a final of 113-92.
"I'm very proud of how we performed today," said head coach Dan Lloyd. "We have faced a lot of adversity this week with sickness, and we focused on off events in this lineup. We really stepped up today and showed that our focus is always on racing and being ready for conference."Â
Relays
- The women's 200-medley relay of Megan Frost, Brooke Walker, Bella Casanovas, and Olivia White took third with a time of 1:58.29.
- The men's 200-medley relay composed of Nick Phillips, Kacper Cebula, Hunter Craft, Oskar Bannister earned second with a time of 1:36.62.
- The women's 200-freestyle relay team of Hailey Glasnovich, Isabelle Sansom, Dominique Valentine, and Emily Martin finished second at 1:43.64.Â
- The men's 200-freestlye relay squad of Bannister, Blumenfeld, Mark Addison, and Joseph Addison finished up the meet taking home the gold with a finish of 1:26.39.
Top three finishers – Women

Addison Larson clinched third in the 1000 with a time of 11:55.19.

Walker (2:01.23) and Valentine (2:03.97) earned second and third in the 200-free.

Sansom took second in the 50-free.

Martin posted the top time in the 200 IM (2:18.21) and fought her way into second in the 100-back (1:04.11).

Heiar dominated the 100 butterfly, winning the event with a time of 59.89. Bella Valenti took third with a mark of 1:04.19.

Sansom (55.02) and Glasnovich (57.41) had a secnnd and third-place finish in the 100-free.

Martin fought her way into second in the 100-back, out-touching 3rd by 0.5 seconds (1:04.11).

Walker touched the wall first in the 500 with a time of 5:20.52. Casanovas finished second at 5:27.9.

Kaitlyn Yee took third in the 100-breast (1:15.28).
Top 3 finishes– Men

M. Addison finished with the top time (1:43.44) in the 200-free, followed by Bannister in second (1:43.99).

Augie filled the podium in the 50-free. Phillips took the gold, out-touching his team by .01 (22.04). Blumenfeld came in second (22.05), with Jack Brandt rounding out the podium in third (22.12).Â

Nathan Mesina took third in the 200 IM (2:04.12).

Craft finished second in the 100-fly with a time of 52.56.

Phillips (48.41), J. Addison (48.47), and Blumenfeld (48.50) had a top-three finish in the 100 free.
- Cebula (54.5) and Dante Rinaldi (55.01) had second and third place finishes in the 100-back.
The Vikings are back in action for a diving-only event against St. Ambrose on Friday, February 3. Start time is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. from the Anne Greve Lund Natatorium.
