WHITEWATER, Wis. — The Augustana men's indoor track & field team placed fifth out of eight teams in attendance at the Squig Converse Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater on Friday. 

Augie found success in multiple events, highlighted by a top placement in the 200-meter sprint from Connor McBride, who ran a 22:54 time. McBride has only improved in the event, besting his most recent time of 22:73 at the Bumble Rumble competition on January 21.

Carson Eipers finished second in the weight throw competition with an 18.05-meter hurl. Eipers' toss was his second-best of the season, trailing only his 18.09 throw at the Frigid Bee Invitational on December 3, 2022. Luke Cowan finished third in the competition with his 15.82-meter toss.

Elsewhere, Joe Langridge finished fourth in the 3000-meter event with a time of 8:37.16. Andrew Johns finished fifth in the one-mile race, clocking a time of 4:50.52. Johns was trailed closely by Aiden Bowser, who finished seventh, turning in a time of 5:07.88.

The distance medley team of Finbar Martin, Curtis Baldwin, Donovan Garro, and Austin Earley finished second in their event with a time of 12:05.81.

The Vikings will return to action on February 4 at the Illinois Wesleyan Keck Division III Select. Start time is still to be determined.
