Swimming & diving defeated at St. Ambrose

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming and teams went across the river on Friday to take on the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees in a dual meet, dropping both contests. The women fell by a final of of 159-71, with the men dropping their meet 161-83. Augustana boasted several top performances on the night against a St. Ambrose team pushing to make nationals.

Relays

Top three finishers – Women

  • Kaite Zaborenko won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 168.2. Kate Kucera took silver.

  • Sansom (2:01.66) and Bella Casanovas (2:03.42) took second and third in the 200-free.

  • Glasnovich finished third in the 50-free (26.15) and second in the 100-back (1:01.5).

  • Bella Valenti placed second in the 200-IM (2:17.12).

  • Sansom took second in the 100-fly (1:03.74).

  • Heiar edged her way into third in both the 100-free with a time of 56.94 and 100-breast with a finish of 1:11.91.

  • Kucera took second in 1-meter diving, scoring 175.85, while Zaborenko earned third scoring a 168.82.

  • Walker earned silver in the 500-free, clocking in at 5:25.6.

Top 3 finishes– Men

  • Fernando Munguia won 1-meter (11 dives) with a score of 198.95. Sean Halloran took second in the 1-0meter (6 dives) with a score of 129.4.
  • Lorenzo Moreno earned the bronze (6 dives), scoring 128.6.
  • Mark Addison won the 1650 with a time of 16.26.94. The time is the top time of the conference by 40 seconds and 10 seconds off of the NCAA Division III B cut.
  • Mesina took third in the 200-IM (2:01.85) and second in 100-breast (1:01.56).
  • Bannister posted a 47.85 time in the 100-free to finish second.

Both Augustana teams drop to 3-1 on the season. The Vikings are back in action on Saturday at Wheaton. Start time is scheduled for 10:15 a.m.
