ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams will welcome in the Monmouth Fighting Scots on Saturday, January 14 for Senior Day. It will be the first and only home meet the Vikings will compete in during the 2022-23 season.

The Augie men enter Saturday with a 2-0 record in dual meets. The team participated in consecutive invitationals to close out the 2022 calendar year, placing second at the Luther Invite and fifth at the Wheaton Invite. Prior to that, the Vikings earned wins in their first two outings of the season, knocking off Monmouth on the road by a score of 168-25 before defeating Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, 163-109. Augustana also took first place at the IWU Invite over Halloween Weekend.

Kacper Cebula earned CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week honors back on November 1 for his efforts against Monmouth and at the IWU Halloween Invite.

The Augustana women also enter Saturday with a perfect 2-0 dual meet record this season. The Vikings placed fifth and sixth, respectively, at their outings at Luther and Wheaton to close out 2022. Augustana defeated Monmouth in the season opener by a final of 167-36 before knocking off Illinois Wesleyan two weeks later on the road by a score of 176.5-102.5. Like the men, the Viking women also earned first place at the Halloween Invite hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.

The Monmouth men come in sporting a 2-2 dual meet record, posting wins over Knox and Illinois College. Augustana leads the all-time series 38-11 and has won the last nine meetings dating back to 2013, including the 2022-23 season opener. For the Fighting Scot women, they come in with a 1-3 record, defeating Knox to kick off their 2022-23 campaign. Augie leads the all-time series 13-5 and are in the midst of a seven-meet winning streak over the Scots.

Start time is scheduled for 1 pm. The senior day recognition ceremony will take place after the second diving break.
