MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team will remain away from home for a string of matches over the weekend, beginning with a road contest against the Cornell Rams on Friday, September 9 before heading to Cedar Rapids for a two-game stand at Coe College on Saturday.
Augie enters the weekend with a 3-2 record after a 3-1 road victory over Central on Wednesday. Both the Vikings and Dutch traded wins in the first two sets, each by a score of 25-19. Augie came out victorious in the final two to clinch the match, using two big scoring outbursts in the third and fourth sets to pull away from the home squad.
Amelie Baehr-Ross posted a season-best 33 assists, to go with a team-high 10 digs and five service aces to lead the Vikings.

Emily Schipper both tallied double-digit kills for the Vikings in the win.
Cornell enters Friday's matchup with a 2-2 record. The team was defeated by Coe in their last outing by a score of 3-0. The Rams began the season with two straight wins over Dubuque and Marian before dropping their last two. Augustana is 16-12-1 against Cornell all-time, but the Rams picked up the win over the Vikings last season in Rock Island by a score of 3-1. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be played at Mount Vernon High School.
On Saturday, the Vikings will take on Buena Vista at 11:00 a.m. in a neutral-site contest. The Beavers sit at 3-2 this season, but have lost two in a row after winning their first three. Augie is 2-4 all-time against Buena Vista, with the most recent outing resulting in a 3-0 win for the Beavers back in 2018.
Later in the day, Augustana will face the host school Coe in their final match of the weekend. The Kohawks are currently 3-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming at the hands of UW-Stevens Point. Augie is 13-10 against Coe all-time, but dropped a home matchup in 2021 by a score of 3-0. Start time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
