ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's golf team placed fifth at their home tournament over the weekend, seeing a top-five finish from Tyler Langel to help lead the team to a finish in the top half of teams present.

Augie posted a two-day total of 613, just three strokes back of fourth place Buena Vista. Senior Tyler Langel (75-73) shared a tie for fourth, shooting a total of 148 to place him even with Buena Vista's Kaleb Sander. Adam Soczka (77-76) finished five shots behind Langel with a 153, with Danny Ford (80-77) finishing in third on the Viking squad with a 157. Jonah Snelling (81-77) and Noah Ehlenbach (78-82) rounded out the Augustana lineup with scores of 158 and 160, respectively.

The Vikings had a seven-stroke improvement on day two to help move themselves up on the leader board.

Augustana is back in action on Friday, September 16 for a two-day stay at the Clarke Fall Classic at Eagle Ridge in Galena, Ill.
