PEWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Augustana Vikings women's golf team visited Naga-Waukee War Memorial Golf Course on Tuesday for the CCIW Preview, finishing in third place out of eight teams.

Augie battled through the heat, which resulted in a 30-minute weather delay at one point. Some of the teams present were unable to finish play, but the Vikings completed the outing with a team score of 339, missing second place by a single stroke

Junior Avery Frick was the top scorer for the Vikings, shooting a 78 and finishing second overall. Sophomore Elena Kuczkowski tied for sixth place with Taylor Chase of Millikin with a score of 83. Jennifer Larsson and Kelsey O'Connor finished with scores of 87 and 91, respectively. 

Augie was one of the three teams that were able to finish the course, as the weather delay forced the meet past dusk and ultimately kept five teams from finishing their round. 

Augustana will be back in action on September 25-26 for the Midwest Region Fall Classic at Brighton Dale Golf Course in Kansasville, Wis. Start time on Sunday is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
