ROCK ISLAND -- Augustana Director of Athletic Communications
Trevor Jossart has announced the hiring of
Dylan Temple as the new Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.
Temple is a graduate of Western Illinois, earning both his bachelor's and master's degree there. During his undergrad, he worked over two dozen ESPN+ broadcasts for the athletic department as part of his Broadcasting and Journalism degree. Roles included camera operator and audio and graphics specialist. He then entered the Western Illinois graduate program, where he obtained a master's in sport management. While working toward his degree, Temple was a graduate assistant for the sport management department. He actively recruited new students to the program and aided with communication between the department and prospective students. Additionally, he worked over 20 hours a week for Western Illinois athletics in an independent study program under the Director of Game Operations and Director of Athletics. He aided in a multitude of roles but heavily focused on the game operations and communications side of athletics. He graduated with honors in the summer of 2021. Temple also holds an associate degree from Clinton Community College.
"I am excited about the experience and passion Dylan brings into Augustana and I have no doubt he will do great things promoting our outstanding student-athletes and programs," Jossart said. "He comes in with great experience in writing, game operations, and media relations. I am excited to have him on board."
Temple's duties with the athletic communications office will begin immediately.
