WHEATON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings women's volleyball team will visit the Wheaton Thunder on Wednesday, September 14 for both team's conference opener.

The Vikings enter Wednesday with a 5-3 record following a 3-1 week. Augie picked up a pair of road wins over Central and Cornell, followed by a split on Saturday at the Mabel Lee Invitational in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Augustana is off to their best start since the 2016 season, which they also began 5-3.

Wheaton currently sits at 5-2 overall and are winners of five straight after dropping their first two matches of the season. They are fresh off of a 3-0 weekend at their own home tournament, picking up two sweeps on Saturday over Loras and Beloit. In 10 sets played over the weekend, the Thunder allowed over 20 points in a game just twice.

In 62 matches played between the two programs, each has won 31 times. The Thunder won last season's meeting in Wheaton by a score of 3-0, breaking a four-match winning streak for the Vikings.
