Box Score KENOSHA, Wis. -- Members of the Augustana Vikings men's tennis team competed at the CCIW Individual Tournament hosted by Carthage over the weekend, seeing some wins across the board in singles competition.

Nicolas Navarro and Arthur Mendes each were victorious in their opening-round matches, winning in third set 10-point tiebreakers to advance to the second round. Timothee Philip bounced back following a first-round loss, picking up a win over a tough opponent from Millikin by a score of 6-4, 6-2. Gabriel Luna also earned a win, defeating Brandon Fulmer of Elmhurst 6-4, 6-0 in the first round of singles flight two. In flight seven, Gustavo Fontenelle won his first match of the day, beating Rylee Gower from Millikin by a score of 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles, Luna and Navarro grabbed a win in flight two, defeating a pair from Illinois Wesleyan in the consolation bracket, 8-4.

The Vikings will be back in action September 17-18 at the Cornell Invitational in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
