ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana men's golf recently finished their 2021-22 campaign with a seventh-place finish at the CCIW Championships. The Vikings competed in 13 total events during head coach Paul Del Vecchio's final season at the helm of the program.
 
The Vikings' saw their lowest single-round team total in the final day of the CCIW Championships with a total score of 310. The lowest single-round team score of the fall season came at the Elmhurst Fall Invitational in September when the Vikings posted a collective 311 in the opening round.
 
As a team, Augie had five top-five finishes. The first came at the Clarke University Fall Classic with a fifth-place finish. The Vikings also ended the Elmhurst Fall Invitational in third, the Duane Chaney Invitational in fourth, the Central Dutch Invite in fourth, and the Millikin Take Back the Night Challenge in fifth.
 
Individually, Adam Soczka posted the lowest single-round score with a 73 to finish the league championships. Tyler Langel, Hunter Love, Dan Ford, along with Soczka, also posted scores of 74 throughout the year.
 
The Viking men managed four top 10 individual finished during the 2021-22 campaign. Hunter Love had the highest placement of the year with a T4 finish at Elmhurst in the fall. Langel ended the Duane Chaney Classic alone in eighth place in October. Elsewhere, Jonah Snelling saw success on the team's trip to Louisiana with a T9 finish at the Hall Sutton Invite in late March while Soczka's play at the Clarke University Fall Classic earned him a solo 10^th-place finish.
 
Augustana ended the year ranked 146^th in the Golfstat.com team rankings. Langel and Love were named the team's co-Most Valuable Players for the 2021-22 season. Soczka's efforts earned him Newcomer of the Year. Dan Ford took home the Most Improved Player award.
