Vikings conclude home Twilight meet to close out season

Kat Krebasch will compete at the national meet next weekend in Geneva, Ohio

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings outdoor track & field teams competed in their final meet of the season Thursday as they hosted the Midwest Twilight in the final day across the country to qualify for the NCAA DIII outdoor national championships.

Senior pole vaulter Katrina Krebasch jumped up from No. 11 to No. 2 in the country after winning the pole vault with a school record 3.97m mark. She will enter the DIII national championships next weekend in Geneva, Ohio with the second-best performance of the season at the national level. Following her record-breaking performance, the senior also earned first place in the high jump, clearing 1.62m to win the event.

Across both men's and women's teams, the Vikings saw several personal records (PR), including two from Sylvia Harvin in the 200m (27:15) and 400m (1:00.86). She placed in the top 15 in both of those events. Carmen Bruchnak also finished in the top 15 in the 800m with a time of 2:19.30. McKenzie Reser placed sixth in the 100m dash, finishing with a time of 12.43. She also placed 11th in the 200m. Irais Tenorio and Anna Boardman both secured spots in the top 15 in the 1500m, while Heather Michalski concluded her first-year campaign with a seventh-place standing in the discus.

Carson Eipers posted a PR in the hammer with a toss of 54.72m, placing him fifth overall in the event. Travis Bush posted a 50.82m mark in the javelin to also earn him a top five finish, while Judd Anderson clocked a 15.24 time in the 110m hurdles to place him in the top ten.

The Vikings will officially end their season next weekend with a national championship appearance from Krebasch. More info to be released at a later date.
