SILVIS, Ill. – Augustana women's golf wrapped up a solid two-day stint at the Deere Run Invitational in the Quad Cities area. After a middling first round, the Vikings charged through day two to finish fifth in the 13-team field.
As a team, Augustana struggled through the first round of play. The Vikings' first day was highlighted by sophomore
Paige Breslin's ace on the par three 12
th hole. Breslin's hole-in-one marks the second of the 2021-22 season as
Grace Loverde dunked an ace at the Quad City Cup in Sept. 2021.
Freshman
Jennifer Larsson led the Vikings throughout the event and capped the tournament with a 79, the fourth-best score in the field. Larsson finished T-21 with Dubuque's Courtney Olson.
As a unit, Augustana's fifth-place finish was the best for any NCAA Division III team in the field. The Vikings' excellent second round bumped them up three places and allowed Augie to surpass the University of Dubuque, a 2021 national championship qualifier, in the standings.
The Vikings' next event will take place this weekend when Augustana travels to Galesburg for the Charger Invite on Saturday, Apr. 2 and Sunday, Apr. 3.
