ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana men's golf returned to the course for their 2022 spring debut earlier this week. On Monday, Mar. 21 and Tuesday, Mar. 22, the Vikings competed at the Hal Sutton Invitational in Bossier City, La. Augustana finished 10
th in the field of 10 talented southern teams.
Blinn College's "A" team, one of three junior colleges in attendance, won the event with a team score of +20, eight strokes lower than the runner-up program. The hosts from Centenary College finished in second in the team race while Blinn's "B" team took third.
The Vikings were narrowly bested by Belhaven University by just one stroke to earn 10
th place. Jacksonville College (Texas) was the third team to finish with a team score of 60-over par or more.
Jonah Snelling was the lone Viking to finish in the top ten on the individual leaderboard. The junior finished T-9 with a score of +7.
Adam Soczka just missed the top 20 with a solo 23
rd finish after posting +13.
