ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana women's basketball will attempt to extend their current winning streak to four games this weekend with a CCIW road contest. The Vikings (10-10, 4-7) will travel to Chicago for this season's rematch with North Park.
North Park currently holds a 14-5 overall record and a 7-4 record in conference play. The Vikings' mark in league competition is good enough for third in the current conference standings.
A win for NPU would also be their fourth-consecutive victory as the Vikings have taken down Carthage, Elmhurst, and North Central in their previous three games. North Park's most recent loss came to Illinois Wesleyan on Jan. 24 in a 68-49 home defeat.
Three North Park players are currently averaging double-digit scoring. Jayla Johnson paces the Vikings with 18.9 ppg followed by Emily Czuhajewski with 15.3 ppg and Esther Miller with 11.4 ppg. Lauren Lee is just below the double-digit average with 9.8 points per contest.
Johnson also leads North Park on the glass with 7.8 boards per game. Miller is second in that category with 5.5 rpg. Elsewhere, guard Chantel Hairston leads the way in assists with nearly three dishes per game.
North Park won this season's previous matchup between both Viking squads. NPU took the 70-64 win in Rock Island on Jan. 10, the first game of 2022.
Fans planning to attend Saturday's contest must follow the
