PELLA, Iowa – The Augustana men's wrestling team will travel to the heart of Iowa for a pair of duals against the Central Dutch and Simpson Storm. 

Augie is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Albion Invite, highlighted by a first-place finish from Trevor Boryla. Boryla toppled the 133 bracket, beginning with two quick pins to start the day and wrapping with a dominant 17-0 tech fall victory over Kelvin Rodriguez of East Stroudsburg. 

Elsewhere, Alex Cruz earned a second-place finish in the 149 bracket, while Jack Patting and Vinny Querciagrossa secured consolation bracket victories. The Vikings had three others finish with two victories at the Invite, Mikey Rodriguez (141), Clay DeBaillie (184), and Jacob Badger (197).

The Vikings currently sit 2-0 in dual meets this season, defeating both Elmhurst and Carthage.

The Dutch possess a 1-0 record in duals this season entering Thursday night's matchup. Central secured their lone win over previously No. 8 ranked Coe College in 24-16 fashion. The Dutch's win was their first in Cedar Rapids since 1990. 

The Vikings lead the all-time series over Central by a 12-16-1 mark. The last meeting between the two programs came in the 2021-22 season at the Carver Center, with Augie falling by a 30-11 score. The Vikings are currently on a seven-match skid against the Dutch and will look to get back in the win column against the longtime opponent tomorrow night.

The Storm possess a 1-2 record across their three duals this season and are coming off of a successful effort at the Coe Open where they boasted an individual winner in Zach Stewart (149). In addition, Simpson had three other wrestlers finish with top-three placements at the open. 

The Vikings lead the all-time series against Simpson 16-8, but have dropped their last two meetings to the Storm. The Vikings last matched up against the Simpson at home during the 2021-22 season, narrowly falling by a 20-19 score to the Storm. The dual came down to the final match, with Augie securing the final matchup but not via fall, which was necessary to edge the Storm in points.
