ROCK ISLAND -- Augustana's women's basketball team will open CCIW play as they remain at the Carver Center on Wednesday, November 30 to face the Wheaton Thunder.

The Vikings enter the contest with a 5-1 record, recently dominating Webster by an 87-64 score. The Vikings controlled the contest from start to finish, showing prowess from beyond the arc, shooting at a 40 percent clip. Presley Case was everywhere for Augie, dropping 14 points with nine rebounds, seven assists, and five steals. Macy Beinborn and Gabriela Loiz tied for the Vikings' scoring lead, dropping 18 points each. The Vikings came away from the contest assisting on 24 of their 29 made shots, their highest assist total since 2018.

Wheaton enters Wednesday's matchup on a five-game winning streak, sporting a 5-1 season record. The Thunder competed in two tournaments to open their season, dropping their lone matchup to Hanover in the season-opener. In their most recent contest, the Thunder triumphed over Ripon 67-59. Wheaton saw their four-game win streak under siege in the first half, heading into the locker room down seven, but leaned on late threes from Annika Richardson and Caroline Sikkink to come back and secure a late win at home.

Wednesday's contest kicks off conference play for both Augustana and Wheaton. Augie held a 6-10 record in the CCIW in 2021-22, while Wheaton possessed an 8-9 conference record a season ago.

The Vikings currently trail in the all-time series to the Thunder with a 23-54 record. The last encounter between the two programs resulted in a Wheaton victory in Rock Island by a 68-65 score.

Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from the Roy J. Carver Center. The stream link for Wednesday's matchup can be found here
