ROCK ISLAND. -- Augustana's women's basketball team remains at the Carver Center tonight, November 21, to face the Colorado College Tigers.
The Vikings enter the matchup with a 3-1 record, fresh off the Hyatt Place tournament, where Augie went 1-1 on the weekend. The Vikings opened the tournament with a close encounter against the Dubuque Spartans, securing the contest off a clutch
Emily Brenneisen three-pointer with just over a minute remaining. The contest ended with a 61-64 final favoring the Vikings. Augie then faced the UW-Oshkosh Titans in Saturday's championship match where they struggled to gain their footing offensively. The Vikings dominated the paint, but the Titans were more efficient overall from the field. As a result, the Vikings dropped the game at a 64-49 final in favor of the Titans.
Gabriela Loiz earned a spot on the all-tournament team, dropping 34 total points, including a 19-point effort in game two. Loiz also contributed ten boards and four steals across the tournament.
Colorado College enters tonight's matchup on a three-game skid, sporting a 1-3 season record. In the Tiger's most recent matchup, they fell by an 83-72 score to the University of Chicago Maroons. The second half of the contest was an offensive frenzy, seeing both teams score a collective 99 points in just 20 minutes.
The Tigers currently lead the Vikings in the all-time series by a 2-3 record. The last matchup between the two programs came in 2011, where Augie stole a 60-56 game on the road.
