KENOSHA, Wis. – The Augustana men's and women's wrestling teams travel to Wisconsin on Tuesday to face the Carthage Firebirds in a CCIW dual.
Augie is coming off last weekend's Luther Open, where they found success on both sides. The Vikings men's team produced a top-six finisher in Jack Reina, while Sawyer Graham conquered the 170 bracket for the women's team. Angie Guy also finished as a runner-up in her bracket on Saturday.
The Firebirds on the men's side have dropped their first two duals of the season, including a lopsided 45-3 conference defeat to Millikin. Carthage's women's team is also entering their first dual of the season, after their November 12 matchup with Adrian College was canceled.
Augustana has won their last two matchups against Carthage, dating back to the 2021 season. The Vikings men's team bested Carthage last season by a 40-9 score. A one-sided dual in which Augie started with a technical fall win from Trevor Boryla and closed with a Clay DeBaillie pin. The matchup will be the Augie women's first meaningful test against Carthage, as last season, they had only three wrestlers face the Firebirds in Naperville for no team score.
