BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Augustana Vikings men's and women's swimming & diving teams were victorious in their second dual meet of the season, defeating the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on the road. The women's team took first in 11 out of 13 events, winning by a score of 176.5-102.5, while the men's team won nine of 13 events, earning a 163–109 victory.
"I am so proud of our team," said head coach Dan Lloyd. "They did an incredible job of setting the tone and keeping intensity throughout. This was a complete team victory as everyone stepped up and showed how strong our depth is.
The women's 200-medley relay composed of Hailey Glasnovich, Zoe Heiar, Dominique Valentine, and Isabelle Sansom, out-touched the Titans by .03 for first. The same team also won the 200 freestyle relay.
Augie some multiple first-place finishers, including Brooke Walker in the 200 free, Olivia White in the 1,000 free, Heiar in the 100 breast, Bella Casanovas in the 200 fly, Sansom in the 50 and 100 free, and Emily Martin in the 200 IM. The Vikings also had 1-4 finish in the 100 fly, led Heiar. Valentine, Genevieve Ryan, and Jenna Hale were close behind to put the finishing touch on the meet.
In diving, Katie Zaborenko won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.

In the 1,000 freestyle, Casanovas took second.

In the 200 free, Valentine finished third.

In the 100 and 200 back, Glasnovich took second and third, respectively.

On the men's side, the A 200-medley team of Nick Phillips, Kacper Cebula, Terrin Boehmer, and Jack Blumenfeld, beat the Titans by 7 seconds. The A 200-free relay team of Phillips, Cebular, Tommy Anderson, and Blumenfeld placed second.
Individual winners include Nick Phillips in the 100 back, Blumenfeld in the 100 free, Gavin McCorry in the 200 back, and Cebula in the 200 IM. The men also had a first through fourth finish in the 100 breast, led by Michael Garland as the race winner. Anderson, Cebula, and Albert Buvary rounded out the top four in the race.
Scott Dunham won in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.

With the wins, both Augie teams improve to 2-0 on the year. The Vikings will be back in action beginning Friday, November 18 for a two-day stay at the Luther Invitational in Decorah, Iowa.
