ROCK ISLAND -- The Augustana Vikings men's water polo team will return to the Anne Greve Lund Natatorium on Saturday, November 12 for their first and only home contest of the season as they host the visiting McKendree Bearcats.

Augie current sits at 11-5 on the season after finishing 2-1 at the DIII Eastern Championships last month. The Vikings defeated Connecticut College to move onto the semifinals, but fell by a point to eventual champion Johns Hopkins. Augustana claimed third with a thrilling 20-18 overtime victory over Austin, the program's first-ever overtime contest. Colin McDowell, Oskar Bannister, and Declan Hutton were all named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Vikings also finished out their regular season with a perfect 5-0 record in the MPSF conference, earning them the No. 2 overall seed in the upcoming MPSF Championships. Augustana has learned their first-round opponent and will place Division I No. 4 Stanford on November 18 in Los Angeles, Calif.

McKendree comes into Saturday's matchup with a 6-16 overall record. The Bearcats are currently riding a four-game winning streak after dropping 13 in a row, defeating Salem by a score of 23-14 in their last outing.

This will be the fourth-ever meeting between the two programs, with the Bearcats grabbing wins in each of the first three encounters. McKendree defeated Augustana in the season opener by a score of 12-7 at home. The two teams also squared off at the Anne Greve Lund Natatorium in 2021, resulting in a 16-4 win for the Bearcats.
